Easter in Lithuania
Lithuania is a Roman Catholic country. We go to church at Easter time. The people in the church are blessed with water and we pray. We take food to church and poor people eat the food left in the church afterwards.
We also colour boiled eggs. We colour eggs to mean different things: red is for life, black is for earth, blue is for sky, green is for awakening vegetation and yellow is for crops in the fields.
On Sunday we collect eggs from friends and we roll the eggs down special little chutes outside and when they are broken we eat them. then we go home and we sing special songs and have a little drink!
